It is a 2 dimensional bar code supplying information to smartphone and tablet users on the go, who have installed a QR reader on their device.
You can take a picture of the QR code and open the code on your desktop or laptop and let it act the normal way.
In other words the Qr code is the important key between the real world and the digital world.
